Job description

Overview

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Financial Analyst, the Financial Analyst will assist with internal and external financial reporting and provide high-quality, detailed monthly analysis.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements within Workiva for Canadian and Foreign entities and joint ventures.
  2. Support the financial reporting manager in reviewing internal and external variance analysis for MD&A and external reports.
  3. Research and implement updates to accounting policies with support from the Financial Reporting Manager or Director.
  4. Assist in reviewing technical memos for complex financial instruments and transactions.
  5. Prepare non-working capital related working papers and ensure SOX compliance.
  6. Contribute to audit working papers and IFRS-compliant statements.
  7. Review and propose journal entries for complex transactions, coordinating with outside consultants.
  8. Support external auditor requests with relevant information.
  9. Assist in updating accounting policies related to non-working capital accounts.
  10. Provide information to the tax team for tax compliance.
  11. Handle ad-hoc statutory reporting and analysis as requested.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  2. CPA designation or in the process of completing it.
  3. At least 2 years of experience in accounting and finance, focusing on financial reporting and analysis.
  4. Experience with financial statement preparation or auditing, handling multi-currency transactions and consolidations is an asset.
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  8. Flexible, committed to meeting deadlines.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
