Job description

About the Company :

Founded in 2013, North American Helium (NAH) is a leading company focused on exploration and production of helium from underground fields of inert nitrogen. The company's mission is to grow its reliable and geopolitically secure non-hydrocarbon-based helium supply to replace declining supplies from legacy hydrocarbon projects and diminishing stockpiles, such as the Cold War-era stockpile managed by the Bureau of Land Management in the United States. NAH currently produces approximately 7% of helium supply in North America and is actively developing new projects across various stages. The company operates nine producing facilities on a land position of about 9 million acres in Southwest Saskatchewan, Canada, including Canada’s largest facility, Battle Creek, selling gaseous and liquid helium under long-term contracts to major global industrial gas companies. NAH also has exploration assets in Alberta, Utah, and Montana, aiming to expand production to meet increasing demand from semiconductor manufacturing, space exploration, and emerging applications like small modular reactors (SMR) and nuclear fusion.

Helium, an inert gas produced by uranium and thorium decay, is trapped in underground reservoirs near its source. Its unique physical properties make it essential for high-tech applications with no substitutes. Its low boiling point and non-reactive nature make it vital for pressurizing and purging liquid fuels in rockets for space exploration and satellite infrastructure. Helium is also crucial for semiconductor manufacturing, MRI machines, and welding applications due to its high heat capacity. A common but minor use is as a lifting gas in balloons and airships.
