Job summary

CATSA is seeking a Financial Advisor, Technology to provide financial analysis, reporting, and contract administration support for technology expenditures, software licensing, and technology assets. The role partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cost visibility and effective management.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in commerce or accounting, at least four years in financial analysis, and strong Excel/financial modeling skills, with the ability to analyze licensing

Summary of responsibilities:

The Financial Advisor, Technology is responsible for providing financial analysis, reporting, advice, and contract administration support related to technology expenditures, software licensing, technology assets, vendor agreements, and operational spending. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, expenditure management, compliance activities, and operational decision-making by providing analysis and recommendations related to technology financial operations. The position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support financial accuracy, cost visibility, and effective management of technology-related expenditures. The Financial Advisor, Technology, performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Provides financial analysis and advice related to technology expenditures, software licensing, technology assets, cloud consumption, and vendor agreements.

• Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles technology-related expenditures, including cloud infrastructure, software subs Provides advice and guidance regarding software licensing, vendor agreements, contract administration, procurement processes, and technology financial management activities.

• Analyzes technology expenditures, software licensing costs, contract commitments, and operational spending trends to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.

What you need to succeed

To qualify for the position, you must have:

• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in Commerce, Accounting, or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

• Experience in supporting financial planning activities, including the preparation of budget forecasts and accruals for operating and capital projects.

• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in financial analysis, contract administration, expenditure management, invoice reconciliation, software licensing administration, or related financial and operational activities.

• Knowledge of software licensing models, software asset management practices, vendor agreements, technology procurement processes, contract compliance requirements, and cloud licensing models.

• Experience interpreting software licensing agreements, technology contracts, and vendor commitments.

• Experience working with software asset management tools, technology financial management processes, enterprise resource planning systems, or similar technology management platforms.

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of financial planning and accounting.

• Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools.
