Employment Status: Temporary (up to 18 months); part-time (Monday - Saturday branch; extended hours); guaranteed minimum 20 hours/week

Servus is growing! We are currently looking for a part-time Financial Advisor Associate for our Lacombe branch.

Reporting to the Assistant Branch Manager, our Financial Advisor Associate plays an integral role in the branch by supporting our members with all their banking needs. Responsibilities include preparing documents for member meetings, proactive contact and follow-up with members, handling walk-in discussions, and supporting administrative and branch activities. You will also process daily banking transactions and recommend products and services to ensure our members feel good about their money.

The scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Proactively gather and document all pertinent information required for the Financial Advisor to have a robust conversation.
  2. Review personal accounts for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, and identify recommendations to improve members' financial fitness.
  3. Open and review new accounts, follow up with members per service guidelines.
  4. Prepare and enter loan application information.
  5. Support branch activities to grow new memberships and strengthen financial relationships.
  6. Differentiate clearly between credit union and competitor products and services.
  7. Present advice and solutions to improve members' financial situations.
  8. Process member transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, loan and utility payments, money orders, credit card advances, foreign and domestic exchange calculations, and cheque cashing.

Requirements

To qualify, you need at least 1 year of retail banking or sales experience and a high school diploma. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary education in Finance or related fields
  • IFIC certification
