We are seeking a full-time Financial Advisor Associate for our Westlock branch.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Financial Advisor Associate plays an essential role by supporting our members with their banking needs. Responsibilities include preparing documents for member meetings, maintaining proactive contact and follow-up, handling walk-in member discussions, and performing administrative and branch support activities. You will also process daily banking transactions and recommend products and services to enhance our members' financial well-being.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Gathering and documenting information for financial advisor discussions.
  2. Reviewing accounts for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, and identifying recommendations to improve members' financial health.
  3. Opening and reviewing new accounts and following up with members according to service guidelines.
  4. Preparing and submitting loan applications.
  5. Supporting branch efforts to grow memberships and strengthen existing relationships.
  6. Differentiating between credit union and competitor products, and presenting advice to improve members' financial situations.
  7. Processing transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan and utility payments, money orders, credit card advances, and foreign exchange.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of retail banking or sales experience and a high school diploma.

Preferred but not required:

  • Post-secondary education in Finance or related fields.
  • IFIC certification.
