Job summary

Educators Financial Group is seeking a Financial Advisor to build long-term client relationships and deliver personalized financial planning. You will drive growth, retention, and an outstanding client experience while meeting with clients and attending events.

The role reports to the Regional Director, Client Advisory Services in Ontario and includes travel within the assigned area. A newly created position offering growth and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education required.
  • Valid Mutual Funds certification or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Financial Services Advice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop meaningful client relationships and act as trusted Financial Advisor.
  • Retain and grow share of wallet with personalized solutions.
  • Prepare client asset allocation proposals and financial planning projections.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve issues timely.
  • Represent Educators Financial Group at events and workshops.
  • Collaborate with team to engage in business development.

Compensation and benefits packages include:

  • Annual salary (hiring range): $70,000 - $78,000 (subject to the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications and skills), plus annual Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP) bonus.

  • Health Benefits Plan, including Extended Health, Dental & Vision coverage, Basic Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Benefits and Employee Assistance Programs. Premiums are paid by the company, with the exception of LTD premium.

  • Defined benefit pension plan, with the company’s contribution ranging from 6% to 8% to provide employees with a predictable lifetime retirement income, survivor benefits, early retirement options.

  • Remote work environment with some travel required within the assigned area.

  • 3 weeks of paid vacation and other leave entitlements.

About the Role

As a Financial Advisor you will build long-term client relationships, deliver personalized financial planning and advice, and help clients achieve their goals while driving growth, retention, and an exceptional client experience. The position will report to the Regional Director, Client Advisory Services, North, Central and Eastern Ontario. The role will involve travelling and using own vehicle to attend conferences, workshops, and client meetings.

This is a newly created position.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing meaningful relationships with clients and becoming their trusted Financial Advisor.

  • Retaining and growing share of wallet by delivering personalized financial solutions and advice.

  • Preparing client asset allocation proposals and modular financial planning projections.

  • Responding to client inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.

  • Representing Educators Financial Group at workshops, trade shows, seminars and events.

  • Collaborating with other members of the team to engage in the entire business development process, reviewing and adapting plans according to results and changing markets.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education (a college diploma or university degree).

  • Valid Mutual Funds certification (Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).

  • Holding or working towards the Certificate in Financial Services Advice.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, supported by demonstrated results.

  • French language proficiency is considered a strong asset.

  • Experience in preparing and presenting financial plans to clients would be an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills in managing client partnerships, proven ability to engage and nurture long-term relationships.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to deliver engaging in-person and virtual presentations.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office. Familiarity/experience with Salesforce, MorningStar and Conquest.

  • Flexibility to work a schedule based on client availability.

  • Skilled at self-directed work, maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness while handling multiple priorities.
