As an RBC Financial Advisor, you attract, nurture, and grow relationships with our high-value personal and small business clients by adding value in the moments that matter to them. You provide our clients with proactive professional advice and collaborate with RBC partners to help clients achieve their goals and navigate key life events. As an expert advisor, you possess a breadth and depth of expertise across everyday banking, investments, and credit, enabling you to fulfill a robust Advice Experience for both complex personal and business needs.

What will you do

  • Consistently demonstrate empathy, kindness, and take the time to understand clients' circumstances, motivators, and concerns in all interactions with colleagues and clients.
  • Communicate effectively to uncover client needs, deliver client-centric advice and solutions, and proactively resolve concerns at first contact.
  • Utilize your own advice capabilities and collaborate with the right partners within the RBC ecosystem to meet clients' full suite of financial needs, both personal and business.
  • Provide professional advice and education, addressing complex credit and investment needs, ensuring solutions are appropriate for clients' needs and financial circumstances.
  • Champion digital enablement by proactively educating clients to self-serve, leading with advice through digital channels where possible, and encouraging clients to interact via their preferred channels.
  • Use technology effectively to connect with clients both virtually and face-to-face.
  • Implement effective contact and relationship-building strategies to accelerate new client acquisition and retention within your local community.
  • Collaborate with market-leading professionals in financial planning, retirement planning, mortgages, and business banking to ensure clients receive customized and relevant advice.

What do you need to succeed

Must-have

  • Valid Mutual Funds accreditation (Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • Canada (excluding Quebec): Completed Designated Financial Services Advisor (DFSA) designation through the Canadian Securities Institute (e.g., Personal Financial Service Advice and Financial Planning I).
  • Quebec: Completed Certificate of Achievement in Personal Finance through the Canadian Securities Institute (e.g., Fundamentals of Personal Finance Quebec, Investment and Taxation Fundamentals Quebec, Insurance and Retirement Quebec).
  • 2-3 years of proven sales experience in the financial services industry handling credit and investments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Digital literacy across a broad range of devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.).

Nice-to-have

  • Second language skills.
  • Active involvement in developing a solid network within the local community.
