Job Summary

Do you have a passion for accuracy and a strong foundation in accounting? We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our collaborative team, with a focus on Fixed Assets and financial reporting. You'll work closely with a senior team member, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship as you analyze general ledger accounts, prepare reports, and support key financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Analyze monthly variances on the balance sheet and income statement
• Reconcile assigned general ledger and balance sheet accounts
• Communicate with project managers regarding the status of projects and close them in the system when needed
• Prepare reports for project financial management and divisional reporting, including continuity schedules, the recording of assets from acquisition to disposition, and reconciliation of data with the General Ledger
• Validate the accuracy of Capex (Capital expenditures) information for the new projects created
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation
• Apply IFRS standards and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Participate in annual inventory counts, including occasional travel to off-site locations
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records or transactions
• Contribute to ERP implementation, process improvements, and other strategic initiatives
• Take on additional tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a large corporate environment
• Solid understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and data-handling skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Bilingual in English and French is preferred
