The Team: The Danmare Group is comprised of over sixty Professional Engineers, Designers, and Technologists, offering a diverse range of talent that enables us to provide comprehensive process design and niche-level materials handling.

Duties:

  1. Perform day-to-day activities across all aspects of accounting cycles, including AP, AR, cash flow forecasting, revenue recognition, and account reconciliation.
  2. Support all month-, quarter-, and year-end accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  3. Assist with monthly expense allocations between companies (CAD / US) to ensure accurate inter-company settlements.
  4. Review and obtain necessary approval from project managers on all invoices for contractors, freight, and miscellaneous expenses, ensuring adequate accruals are in place.
  5. Prepare monthly invoicing, including contractor invoices, project hours, expenses, and other data for project accounting.
  6. Prepare project costing and hours reports, investigating and explaining significant variances.
  7. Support the Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  8. Assist with year-end and statutory audits, coordinating with auditors.
  9. Reconcile Credit Card accounts and Expense Reimbursements, ensuring expenditures are allocated correctly and approvals are in place.
  10. Communicate effectively with the Controller, vendors, contractors, project managers, and employees.
  11. Respond promptly to data and reporting requests from HO and collaborate with the finance team as needed.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller or management.

Requirements:

  1. 3-5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance within a food manufacturing or engineering consulting environment.
  2. Knowledge of ERP systems; experience with ERP implementation is a plus.
  3. Experience with full accounting cycles and period-end procedures.
  4. Project accounting experience is required.
  5. Experience working in a multi-currency environment.
  6. Understanding of revenue recognition processes.
  7. Process improvement experience is advantageous.
  8. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently under tight deadlines.
  9. Quick learner with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  10. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
