The role involves preparing financial statements, performing analysis, and ensuring accurate accounting processes. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Accounting or Finance, advanced Excel skills, and a professional accounting designation in progress or completed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in finance/accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP's, pivot tables).
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process journal entries ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist in month-end accounting close process.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of GL Accounts.

Job Summary

The Financial Accountant is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements. Responsible for the accompanying analysis - variance analysis and accounting of transactions and delivery of financial information on a timely and accurate basis. Candidates must possess strong organizational and analytical skills in a position that is very detail oriented. A successful candidate will also be able to communicate clearly and concisely, along with the ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment are a must-have.

Job Duties

As an integral member of the Financial Reporting & Accounting team, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and process journal entries and ensure that entries ensuring completeness and accuracy;
  • Assist in the month-end accounting close process;
  • Perform a reasonability on key financial items such as revenues, general expenses and depreciation;
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of GL Accounts and resolution of findings/errors with responsible staff to improve processes;
  • Assist in the preparation and publishing of monthly financial statements and supporting analytical reports.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting/ Finance;
  • Completion or Pursuing of Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA);
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in the finance/accounting department;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables);
  • Experience in an ERP system (Epicor)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff;
  • The ability to work in a team environment and to work well under pressure;
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask;
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.
