Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time, detail-oriented, and proactive Financial Accountant to join our client's Finance Department in Edmonton, AB. In this position, you will play a key role in managing the Capital Asset process and conducting payroll and benefits reconciliations across all locations in the Western provinces. Your work will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial records while supporting broader accounting and reporting activities.

  • Pay Rate: $35.00 / hour
  • Location: Edmonton, AB
  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Job Type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile payroll benefits and communicate with Corporate Payroll to resolve invoicing discrepancies
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations monthly, confirming balances with other Sofina locations; maintain strong relationships with financial, divisional, and corporate management to meet reporting needs; educate management on financial performance reporting
  • Assist the Controller in reviewing and approving all balance sheet account reconciliations monthly
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation and evaluation
  • Create work instruction documentation for performed tasks
  • Drive continuous process improvements by reviewing templates and recommending efficiencies
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Professional Accounting Designation CPA, or final stage
  • Minimum five years of accounting, analysis, and financial reporting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment (food industry experience is an asset)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication across organizational levels
  • Excellent time management, communication, conflict resolution, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
