Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Systems and Training Manager, the Finance Training Consultant is responsible to respond to tickets/ phone calls related to Finance Banner & Minerva inquiries and Accounts Payable requests, provide training to the Finance user community and maintain all Financial Services’ documentation relating to the website, knowledge base and How To’s.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Respond to a wide variety of Finance related inquiries received from the finance community (academics, researchers and financial administrative staff)
  • Document and maintain accurate up-to-date information for all tickets in the Finance Service Desk portal. Handle incoming phone calls and emails
  • Effectively triage complex Help Desk questions to determine if an issue needs to be escalated to an area within Financial and Procurement Services or within the University
  • Maintain and update the Financial Services website, post announcements as required
  • Review, edit and maintain training material posted in the Knowledge Base and in Finance-related courses located in myCourses such as how-to instructions, tutorials, simulations, video files
  • Process course registration on daily basis
  • Maintain Finance related listservs


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
Knowledge of the Financial Information System (Minerva/Banner).Experience in training and making presentations to groups or individuals.Must be service-oriented and able to troubleshoot/resolve users’ difficulties and problems. Strong interpersonal skills.Strong communication skills in English, spoken and written. French, spoken and read. Demonstrated ability to work in a PC environment using a variety of software such as, Jira, Microsoft Office, SnagIt, Captivate, Adobe Professional, WMS, including a working knowledge of Crystal Reports, Jira, Confluence.
