NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: FINANCE SUPPORT IV – Payroll

Full-Time

(Shifts: 8-hour Days, Monday to Friday, may be subject to change)

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position is responsible for day-to-day payroll processing and benefit administration. The Finance Support IV – Payroll is responsible for payroll input and maintaining documentation according to the Alliance and legislative requirements. Integrity and strong attention to detail are crucial for this role.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Payroll

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $35.28 to $36.98 per hour

Qualifications

  • Completion of a two-year post-secondary Business Finance Diploma from an accredited Ontario Community College or Registered Private College.
  • Professional designation (Payroll Compliance Professional [PCP] Certification) with the National Payroll Institute.
Experience
  • Minimum two years recent related experience working with a computerized in-house payroll system.
  • Experience with payroll administration in unionized, multiple cost centres environment.
  • Experience with Meditech payroll module and processes preferred.
Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and respond to multiple changing demands and changing priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to provide information, guidance, and explanations in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanour.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Sound analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
