Competitive salary range of £27,500 to £30,500 per annum.

Role Profile

We are looking for a Finance Supervisor to be responsible for day to day supervision of the Finance Team working across Peterborough Limited. Ensuring efficient and effective accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashier and general ledger functions. Alongside also supporting the Finance Manager in the preparation of management accounts, budget preparation and forecasting, annual statutory accounts, and audits. Peterborough Limited will support your training through the apprentices scheme.

Based in Peterborough, this is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role. In addition, we also offer an attractive benefits package including pension scheme, holidays, discounted gym membership, life assurance scheme, Tech and Cycle schemes and an independent Employee Assistance Programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • To supervise the Finance Team to ensure efficient and effective accounts payable, accounts cashier, receivable and general ledger functions
  • Supervise the Finance Team including absences, recruitment, PDRs and investigations
  • Monitor, train, mentor and support staff
  • Calculate and provide performance figures
  • Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger function to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions have been processed in accordance with account standard and company procedures
  • To continually seek to develop improvements in the Finance processes across the company including but no limited to software’s and associated systems
  • Oversee the pursuit and collection of bad debt
  • To contribute to office cover
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience of supervising or managing a team (D)
  • Experience supporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts and P&L accounts (E)
  • Experience supporting the preparation of annual accounts (E)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (E)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (E)
  • Good data entry and typing skills (E)
  • Experience in dealing with difficult customers (E)
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills (E)
  • Ability to work under own initiative, and priorities work load (E)
  • Experience in using accounting software and systems (E)
  • Experiences of working in a fast paced organisation and adapting to meet its changing needs (E)
  • Experiences of managing time and workload to deliver multiple projects to deadline with multiple stakeholders (E)
  • Knowledge and Qualifications

  • GCSE’s Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths (D)
