Job Title: Finance & Risk Solutions Business Analyst
Job Duration: 6 months contract
Location: Montreal QC H3A 2A6
Pay Range: $80-95/ hour on T4 (Depending upon the experience)
Job Description:
The Business Analyst is responsible for delivering projects and managing the development and support of the General Ledger (accounting system) and regulatory reporting. The position will focus on integrating business and regulatory projects into the accounting platform, including:
- Development of operational system interfaces across CIB products from trading and back office systems
- Enhancing and configuring the general ledger for new reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements
The team collaborates closely with IT, Finance, Risk, Operations, and other reporting systems teams.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzing user requirements and business processes
- Liaising with users and internal teams across NY, Montreal, London, Paris, and Mumbai
- Providing finance process and systems expertise
- Gathering requirements, UAT, and migration testing
- Developing functional specifications for IT
- Ensuring IT developments meet specifications
- Performing integration testing and UAT
- Ensuring timely and quality delivery of activities
REQUIREMENTS
- Secure the delivery plan for Finance initiatives by end of 2025, aligned with the MAIA program
- Experience with regulatory and operational systems related to RWA calculation/reporting
TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Finance professional with knowledge of CIB's core businesses and financial systems
- Understanding of finance and IT functions within a CIB Bank
- 5-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience working with users and IT systems, including back office accounting systems like Calypso, Murex, UBIX
- Experience with regulatory reporting systems such as Axiom, WKFS, Lombard Risk
- Knowledge of RDJ or similar accounting engines
ESSENTIAL SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified accountant or relevant professional qualification
- PRINCE2 qualification is a plus but not mandatory
SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS
- Understanding of traded products like FX, interest rate derivatives, securities, repos, credit derivatives
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- Good understanding of IT databases; programming skills not required
- Good documentation skills
- Ability to work independently
- Commitment to deadlines and a sense of urgency
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with IT, Finance, and back-office users
