Job summary

Engage Recruitment is seeking a proactive Process Improvement Leader for our Finance teams. You will guide Finance teams on process improvements, ensuring robust internal controls and regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on leading improvement projects, developing management systems, and training teams in improvement methodologies. You will collaborate across Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, and Actuarial to drive results.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ work experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting, controllership, FP&A.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement projects with a project team to achieve a step change in key metrics.
  • Support development of Management Systems (process controls, metrics & reporting, training).
  • Deliver formal and informal training on process improvement methodology to the business.
  • Work Organization/Project Management: develop and implement plans, manage resources, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Foster Innovation: implement programs to encourage innovative thinking and new ideas.
  • Build Relationships: establish cross-departmental relations and influence initiatives.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive, driven, highly motivated professional to join our Finance teams as a Process Improvement Leader. Those showing strongest leadership, execution, and process improvement results are targeted to move into bubble assignments on key high impact projects or operational supervision roles. You will act as a Finance SME and guide our Finance teams (Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Actuarial, etc.) on process improvement projects, ensuring they have proper internal controls in place and adhere to regulatory and reporting requirements.

What you’ll be working on:
  • Leading process improvement projects working with a project team to achieve a step change in key business metrics
  • Supporting development of Management Systems (process controls, metrics & reporting, training, etc.)
  • Delivering formal and informal training with the business and new Process Improvement Leaders to train on process improvement methodology
  • Work Organization/Project Management: Developing and implementing plans for others, anticipating current and future needs and objectives; managing resources and ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget
  • Innovation: Implementing programs that encourage, recognize, and reward innovative thinking; supports the introduction of new ideas, methods, or processes
  • Relationship Building: Initiating and building effective relationships with colleagues in other departments, leveraging strong interpersonal and influencing skills to support and develop effective cross-departmental relations and work initiatives
What you’ll need to have:
  • 7+ years’ work experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting, controllership, FP&A, etc.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, including policy research
  • Ability to identify control gaps and operational risks associated with finance operations and developing/implementing appropriate and effective solutions
  • Fast learning and clear critical thinking skills
  • Effective and concise communicator
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong self-initiative with ability to take ownership of challenges and take appropriate action
  • Our ideal candidate either comes straight from a large public accounting firm, or someone with a combination of public accounting and industry experience

Compensation:
  • The compensation for this role is $120k-150k plus 12% bonus.
