Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership (MLSE) is seeking an Accountant to support Global Partnerships. You will blend accounting fundamentals with business insight to ensure accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of partnership activity, working closely with cross-functional teams.

Join a dynamic finance group focused on contract economics, revenue recognition, and actionable insights, contributing to strategic decisions and performance improvement within MLSE’s partnership portfolio.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of month-end close and financial reporting.
Understanding of revenue recognition and contracts.

Responsibilities

Own key accounting activities for Global Partnerships, including month-end journal entries, accruals, revenue and expense recognition, and reconciliations.
Develop understanding of partnership agreements and commercial terms and ensure accurate financial activity.
Analyze monthly results, identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities needing investigation.
Prepare monthly Global Partnerships reporting with clear commentary linking results to drivers.
Partner with FP&A on budgeting/forecasting and provide accounting insights for outlooks.
Support contract lifecycle changes affecting accounting or reporting.
Maintain strong balance sheet governance with reconciliations and aging analyses.
