FINANCE OFFICER

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Finance Department is now accepting applications for a Casual position based out of La Ronge, SK.

This position reports to the Director of Finance & Administration and aims to organize and maintain the Financial and Accounting System of the Finance Department.

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

  1. Provide financial information from the computerized accounting system, including reports such as:
  • Monthly Variance Financial Statements / general ledger data
  • Monthly Student Pay-lists
  • Process transactions in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Administer and monitor financial activities for band programs as required.
  • Report to various funding agencies.
  • Prepare for the annual year-end audit.
  • Maintain the computerized accounting system.
  • Maintain financial files and records, including scanning and archiving documents according to policy.
  • The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    1. 2-year Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
    2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in full cycle accounting and budgeting.
    3. Advanced proficiency with accounting software and applications.
    4. Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and email.
    5. Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, laws, and reporting requirements.
    6. Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures.
    7. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    8. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
    9. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
    10. Ability to provide a recent Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check and SGI Driver Abstract.
    11. Must be bondable.
