About the job

The Financial Accountability Units within the Financial Analysis and Accountability Branch advise on financial matters related to school boards, including:

  • Managing the administration and accountability of school boards' operating grants
  • Monitoring the financial health of school boards and recommending proactive actions for financial stability

This opportunity is with the Financial Accountability Unit overseeing 36 school boards in Sudbury and London, including 12 French-language boards across the province and four isolated boards.

Mandatory requirements

  • You must possess oral and written French skills at a superior level. Your proficiency will be confirmed before hire.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills :

  • Assess financial data to identify budget variances.
  • Interpret and apply legislation related to elementary and secondary education.
  • Resolve financial issues using sound judgment.
  • Financial skills :

  • Apply accounting and audit principles and practices.
  • Conduct compliance audits and financial reviews, consolidate findings, and produce reports.
  • Ensure financial reports adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Communication and computer skills :

  • Communicate clearly and concisely orally.
  • Prepare reports, briefing notes, and ministerial correspondence in writing.
  • Develop effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Other important skills :

  • Coordinate and organize work priorities as a project leader.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data through effective information management.
