The Keethanow Group of Businesses Finance Department is now accepting applications for the following:

Permanent Full Time Position in the community of La Ronge, SK.

Finance Officer (2)

The Finance Officer position is based in the La Ronge Central Office. This position reports to the Financial Comptroller of the Keethanow Group of Businesses. The purpose of the position is to organize and maintain the Financial Accounting System and Payroll of the KGB Department.

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following job duties:

  1. Ensure that all salaries are paid accurately and in a timely fashion.
  2. Responsible for processing transactions in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  3. Administer and monitor the financial activities as required.
  4. Report to various funding agencies as needed.
  5. Prepare for the annual year-end audit.
  6. Maintain the computerized accounting and payroll system.
  7. Prepare and administer payroll for all employees, auditing payroll reports for accuracy.
  8. Assist in administering employee benefits programs.
  9. Maintain detailed records of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
  10. Maintain records for pension and life assurance contributions; liaise with service providers to ensure proper fund transfers.
  11. Monitor holiday and attendance records.
  12. Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure pay and personnel records are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
  1. Diploma in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a relevant field.
  2. At least three years of experience in payroll administration and full cycle accounting and budgeting. A combination of qualification and experience will be considered.
  3. Strong knowledge of payroll systems, internal controls, and management.
  4. Proficiency with accounting software (Retail POS, AI Accounting Software, Sage 300, Payworks) and Microsoft Office.
  5. Ability to handle confidential information ethically and professionally.
  6. Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, laws, and reporting requirements.
  7. Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
  8. Attention to detail and high accuracy.
  9. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  11. Must provide: a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening.
