Summary:

The Finance Officer (FO) will be responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting operations of Amundi Canada and other Amundi’s subsidiaries located in Canada. This role will manage all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for the company. The FO will closely work with the local executive team to drive financial performance, enhance operational efficiency, and support the company's growth objectives. The FO will also have a dual reporting line with the accounting business line based at Amundi’s Head office in Paris.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies that align with the overall business objectives of the Canadian subsidiaries and Amundi's global vision.
  • Input accounting entries in system and prepare accurate financial reports, ensure budgets preparation and follow-up and assist in forecasts and strategic planning.
  • Tax, Audit and Transfer Pricing: coordinate those processes with internal and external parties.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, control and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Budgeting and Forecast

  • Assist the external valuator and fund administrator with the financial reporting and tax support for the Amundi Canada pooled Funds.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO and Board of Directors, providing analysis and recommendations as needed.
  • Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget, providing regular analysis and updates to the CEO
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models that support long-term financial planning and decision-making

Tax Filing and Compliance

  • Oversee all tax filings, Transfer Pricing Planning and compliance requirements, ensuring that the organization is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and other financial service providers to ensure compliance with all reporting and regulatory requirements

Board and Stakeholder Relations and Reporting

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including external providers, investors, regulators and internal departments.
  • Report on the financial performance of the organization to the CEO, Board of Directors, including regular updates on budget performance, forecasts and financial risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate the CEO to develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with the organization’s values and strategic goals

Requirements & Experience

  • CPA qualified
  • Oracle proficient
  • Fluency in French and English is a pre-requisite
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, preferably within the asset management or financial services industry.
  • Extensive experience in Transfer Pricing Planning
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting standards in Canada.
  • In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as applicable to financial services and investment management.
  • Familiarity with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) where applicable.
  • Understanding of the regulations set forth by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) and the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) regarding financial disclosures and reporting requirements for investment firms, including capital requirements, insurance requirements and working capital disclosure.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
