Job summary

University of Toronto’s Dept of Computer Science is seeking a Finance Manager to lead budgeting, accounting, payroll and procurement. You will partner with the Director of Administration to optimize financial resources and ensure internal controls across research grants and staff management.

The role requires a university-level finance or accounting degree, plus 5+ years of management experience and familiarity with SAP or similar financial systems.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance or accounting or appropriate combination of education and experience.
• Successful completion or working towards a recognized accounting designation such as CA, CMA or CGA would be an asset.
• Minimum of 5 years related management, financial and supervisory experience, preferably in a University or academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DA in preparing and managing the annual operating budget.
• Monitor expenditures and forecast cash positions.
• Oversee management of research grants and financial and administrative support for research groups.
• Develop short and long-term financial plans in consultation with faculty and DA.
