Position Summary :
Microserve is looking for a Finance Manager - Optimization to join our Finance Team. This position can be performed remotely from anywhere in Canada, with a preference for candidates based in British Columbia. This role reports directly into the Vice President of Finance. The Finance Manager - Optimization plays a critical role in helping Microserve implement the new ERP system, optimize processes, make informed financial decisions and achieve its strategic objectives. The successful candidate will need experience leading cross-functional teams, project management / process design, financial assurance experience, strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial software and tools, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accounting Process : Obtaining thorough knowledge / understanding of Microserve accounting process; developing appropriate accounting process for new product lines / solutions / business units.
- Optimization Projects : Spearheading financial and cross-functional projects aimed at improving corporate profitability, simplifying and standardizing processes.
- ERP : Ensuring smooth implementation of the financial track.
- Financial Training Leadership : In cooperation with the Training Manager and Operational Excellence coordinating ERP and other training initiatives for the Finance team.
- Contract Reviews : Participating in financial reviews of agreements aimed at reducing risk and optimizing pricing.
- Financial Matters : Supporting VP Finance in all day-to-day financial matters.
- Internal Controls : Fostering strong internal control environment via creation of policies and procedures.
- Legislative Requirements : Maintaining awareness of Canadian legislative requirements in fields relevant to Microserve and coordinating compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience with assurance / auditing
- 3-5 years’ experience as Finance Manager or Sr. Financial Analyst
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- CPA designated
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate or equivalent
- Understanding of assurance and risk management
- Knowledge of ASPE and Canadian statutory reporting requirements
- Ability to work independently as a leader or individual contributor
- Expert Excel skills are essential
- Knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Strong understanding of ERP and relational database
- Experience with ERP implementations is an asset
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential for interpreting financial data, creating models, and making informed recommendations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary for preparing reports, presenting findings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Precision in financial analysis is vital to ensure accuracy in reporting and decision-making
- Open to learning about new technologies, financial regulations, and industry best practices
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ownership
