Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC) is the leading independent clearing broker and custodian in the Canadian market. We provide trade execution, clearing, custody and back-office support services to Canadian-based brokerage firms and the Canadian brokerage arms of U.S.-based firms. The Opportunity

This role is an integral part of the Finance team within FCC, focusing specifically within the Financial Planning & Analysis function. This position reports directly to the Director, Finance. You will be working as part of a team focused on integrating the various financial planning aspects of FCC to provide accurate, high quality financial forecasts as part of the Fidelity Canada quarterly rolling financial forecast process. This includes producing P&L forecasts, as well as driving forward the development of FCC’s various revenue and expense models and value-added analytic capabilities. This position will have regular interface with the Chief Financial Officer and other members of the Senior Management team across FCC.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the annual business planning process through consolidation and delivery of the FCC’s P&L 3-year plan and quarterly forecasting process with mentorship of senior financial analyst on the team
  • Coordinating with the Fidelity Canada finance team on integrating requirements and timelines of the overall planning calendar, consolidation of quarterly forecasts through submission templates.
  • Develop, manage and regularly maintain forecast models which are linked to key success measures and scorecards
  • Conduct meetings and presentations internally with finance teams and Senior Management to communicate deliverables and results.
  • Build out forecast capabilities that are dynamic, timely and capable of sensitivity analysis for FCC
  • Help develop, manage and regularly present a reporting framework including scorecards and commentary
  • Determine the need for enhancement to existing reports or proactively anticipate future requirements and development of new reporting
  • Work cross-functionally on the development and implementation of new tools required to help drive dynamic, forward-looking business strategies
  • Build positive relationships with key stakeholders and management across the organization
  • Operate with an eye towards continuous improvement in enhancing current processes and tools

What We’re Looking For

  • University degree with a concentration in business, accounting, or finance or equivalent work experience
  • Completion of CPA designation
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience within a firm and/or a within a financial analysis role within a finance department
  • Experience in a combination of the following: financial analysis and modelling, reporting, strategic business planning, budgeting and/or performance measurement
  • Financial Services industry / brokerage business experience preferred

  • You are confident and a strong relationship builder
  • You possess excellent communication skills with ability to translate complicated concepts into business terminology.
  • You have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and keen analytical skills
  • You have experience working with Microsoft PowerPoint to create compelling materials for senior management
  • Completion of CSC and knowledge of Dataphile, Oracle general ledger and Business Objects is an asset

Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
