Key job responsibilities
  • Expertise collecting, analyzing, and managing quantitative data and creating meaningful reports to lead business improvement and cost reductions.
  • Utilize solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon, which may have a global impact.
  • Perform root cause analysis and uncover core issues using data, then assist the FC in improving and creating new measures for site productivity.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability.
  • Manage the development of all weekly and monthly financial close, planning, forecasting, and reporting models, ensuring continuous innovation and communication with your Operations partners.
  • Create effective business partnerships, manage competing priorities, and provide guidance during unexpected events.
  • Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated, and timely.
  • Utilize active listening skills to communicate data (both written and verbal) clearly and concisely, adjusting your style based on the audience to articulate complex finance issues.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, root cause analysis, and creating/implementing escalation plans.
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges with accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and impactful recommendations.
  • MBA or CPA.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation.

The salary range for this position is $80,900/year to $135,200/year, depending on experience and skills. Amazon offers a total compensation package including salary, potential equity, sign-on bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. Applicants should apply via our career site.
