Job Purpose

The Northern European Asset Management department is expanding, focusing on delivering financial support services for renewable assets under Management Service Agreements (MSAs). The department manages over 180 companies across 17 clients and three regions, with a team of 37. This Client Lead role involves working alongside other leads, supervising management accountants, and ensuring high-quality service delivery for our growing portfolio.

The role entails managing a comprehensive range of financial tasks such as management accounts, cashflow forecasts, budgeting, compliance, financial statement preparation, and audit oversight. Maintaining a robust control environment and professional skepticism is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and review the team's preparation of management accounts, ensuring quality and clarity.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, managing issues, proposals, and escalations.
  • Guide and train the team to meet financial obligations.
  • Deliver cashflow forecasts, distribution calculations, and support budgeting processes.
  • Prepare reports for board meetings and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage banking compliance, loan covenants, VAT returns, and oversee statutory accounts with the Audit Manager.
  • Handle complex accounting matters, system improvements, and ERP system implementation.
  • Maintain internal controls, manage company secretary records, and oversee onboarding of new MSAs.
  • Participate in projects, reorganization, and strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and growth.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, FRS 102, FRS 101, UK GAAP.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with 8+ years' experience, preferably in renewables or Big Four background.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (experience with IFS/Agresso/Business World is a plus).
  • Ability to interpret contractual obligations and implement complex transactions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in renewables or a similar industry.
  • Experience in management accounting routines, handling multiple entities, and working with complex spreadsheets.
