Finance Manager - 18 months

Our client in the Retail industry is looking for a Finance Manager to join them on an 18-month assignment. The role will be working onsite at their offices in St. Catharines 5 days a week.

The Finance Manager will manage and provide guidance/coaching to a team of 2 team members and will be involved in the day-to-day business unit’s finance team and activities such as financial accounting and reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory. Additionally, the Finance Manager duties will include:

1. Perform an efficient and effective financial close and reporting for the business unit as part of a (targeted) 3-day close each month and answer any questions or queries related to the financial results.
2. Provide financial reporting, analysis, and insights to the local business unit management team and the company, including analysis of actual results vs. budget, forecast, and estimates.
3. Implement and maintain compliance with internal controls and financial accountability.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce, or business administration with CPA or equivalent designation.
2. 6+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience being a key contributor to the financial close and related activities.
3. 3+ years of management experience with a track record of leading and developing team members.
4. Proven self-starter and able to work independently.
5. Strong knowledge of financial reporting.
