Job description

Horizon Recruitment Inc.is supporting a well-establishednot-for-profit organizationin the search for aFinance Managerto join their team during an exciting period of growth and transition. This is a critical leadership role that offers aclear path to Director of Finance, with a planned succession expected within the next year.

In the current phase, the focus will be on core FP&A responsibilities — budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis. Longer term, this role is being positioned to take the reins of the full finance function as the organization evolves its financial structure and impact model. The ideal candidate brings a passion for purpose-driven work, strong analytical and leadership skills, and as a bonus, experience supportingprivate equity or capital raise activities, which would be highly valuable during the organization’s next growth stage.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making
  • Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards to track KPIs
  • Assist in preparing materials for the Board, funders, and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate across departments to gather financial inputs and support operational planning
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close activities alongside the Director
  • Support external audit preparation and compliance reporting
  • Contribute to financial strategy, scenario planning, and multi-year planning
  • Assist in building financial cases and models to support future fundraising efforts
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the Director of Finance with succession in mind

Requirements:

  • CPA designation (or in progress) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis or corporate finance
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Experience in the private sector is an asset, but not required
  • Exposure to private equity, investor reporting, or capital raise planning is a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner across departments
  • Proficient in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Desire to grow into a senior leadership role within the organization

Rewards:

  • $100,000 - $120,000
