Adecco is currently seeking a Finance Manager on behalf of a public sector client in Glenburnie, ON for a 6-month contract. This role offers a competitive salary of $109,000 per year and is ideal for a CPA-certified professional with strong leadership and financial management experience. You'll oversee core financial operations, lead a dedicated team, and contribute to strategic planning in a collaborative, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities :

Lead, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing finance team.

Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and goal-oriented work environment.

Oversee financial operations including accounts payable / receivable, payroll, benefits, capital asset management, and tax processes.

Ensure compliance with legislative and policy standards.

Support budget development, internal controls, audits, and financial reporting.

Provide strategic financial advice and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Promote a safe and psychologically healthy workplace by adhering to and enforcing health and safety legislation and best practices.

Requirements :

Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

Post-secondary diploma in finance, accounting, or related field (degree preferred)

AMCTO designation is an asset

Minimum 3 years of progressive financial management experience

Experience in a unionized environment is an asset

Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, public finance, and fiscal planning

Familiarity with Public Sector Accounting Board Standards and municipal legislation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software (Microsoft Great Plains is an asset)

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Valid Class "G" driver's license

Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
