Job Description
You will form part of the Finance Team for Ocular with line management responsibilities for the transactional side of the team. The role will be to consolidate the results and review management accounts prepared by other members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the consolidation of the month-end results
- Analysis of the sales sectors and sub-sectors.
- Line management of credit control, sales and purchase ledger functions.
- Review of all statutory reporting.
- Review orderbook reporting and forecasting.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with IFRS15 standards.
- Analyse sector performance by comparing actual results against sold projection, identifying variances and providing insights to improve project profitability and accuracy in future projections
- Review and manage budgets and forecasts, and provide detailed revenue and Gross Margin (GM) forecasts to support financial planning.
- Collaborate with operations teams to review P&L statements and provide insights into financial performance, identifying and addressing areas for operational efficiency and profitability improvement.
- Conduct regular reviews of balance sheet accounts with the team to ensure accuracy and integrity, address any discrepancies, and provide recommendations to improve financial reporting.
- Product and review overhead accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Review cashflow forecasts and monitor and report on cashflow variances.
- Review and coordinate Business Review (BR) packs for senior management, providing comprehensive insights into performance.
- Review BR bridges, risks, and ops to analyse performance trends and identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Deputise for the Finance Director.
Skills & Personal Qualities
- Strong ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Attention to detail on all financial reconciliations and reporting to maintain accuracy.
- Efficient in handling multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
- A team player capable of working with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
- Good communication skills to ensure you are clear and concise when presenting complex financial information to key stakeholders.
- Proactive in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
Qualifications
- Qualified – CIMA or ACCA or QBE.
- Previous experience of managing a team is essential.
