Adecco is currently seeking a Finance Manager on behalf of a public sector client in Glenburnie, ON for a 6-month contract. This role offers a competitive salary of $109,000 per year and is ideal for a CPA-certified professional with strong leadership and financial management experience. You'll oversee core financial operations, lead a dedicated team, and contribute to strategic planning in a collaborative, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities :

• Lead, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing finance team.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and goal-oriented work environment.
• Oversee financial operations including accounts payable / receivable, payroll, benefits, capital asset management, and tax processes.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and policy standards.
• Support budget development, internal controls, audits, and financial reporting.
• Provide strategic financial advice and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Promote a safe and psychologically healthy workplace by adhering to and enforcing health and safety legislation and best practices.

Requirements :

• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
• Post-secondary diploma in finance, accounting, or related field (degree preferred)
• AMCTO designation is an asset
• Minimum 3 years of progressive financial management experience
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, public finance, and fiscal planning
• Familiarity with Public Sector Accounting Board Standards and municipal legislation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software (Microsoft Great Plains is an asset)
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Valid Class "G" driver's license
• Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
