NOTE: this is a FULLY REMOTE role and is currently being offered on an 0.5 FTE basis.

The Finance Manager will perform all bookkeeping and account reconciliation tasks, while assisting with payroll, budgeting, basic forecasting, and reporting to ensure the organization's financial health is maintained. While helping to manage cash flow, analyze financial data, and provide support to leadership, the Finance Manager may also provide timely client and supplier support in an AR/AP capacity. Flexibility and strong analytical skills are essential to effectively manage financial operations while top-tier communication skills will ensure success. The successful candidate will be:

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping Support:
· Maintain data accuracy by recording financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and other relevant financial information, into the company's accounting system
· Reconcile bank statements and other accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency
· Ensure accurate and organized journal entries to allow for an up-to-date GL
· Appropriate filing and organization of receipts, records, and other financial documents
· Assist with preparation of corporate tax filings by preparing trial balances and other tasks related to filing activities
Payroll Processing:
· Assist with employee payroll processing, including wages, deductions, and tax withholdings
· Prepare and distribute employee pay and handle the payment of payroll taxes, accrued vacation/benefits, and other documentation required as part of employee pay

Financial Reporting and Budgeting
· Assist with the creation and management of budgets while monitoring financial performance against budgets
· Create, update, and distribute financial statements to aid in decision-making by management
· Provide written analysis or summary reports on financial statements with accurate and reliable recommendations
· Assist with cash management and forecasting activities

Stakeholder Support: AR/AP Communications
· Assist clients and suppliers with regular reporting or reconciliation as part of the normal business cycle
· Collaborate with STRATENYM Project Managers to understand, track, and work within revenue recognition cycles associated with ongoing projects
· Provide communication to clients and suppliers regarding payment activities, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and relationship building
· As part of the payment approval workflow, maintain accurate records and payment schedules
· Develop and/or update financial templates, as required

Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
· Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance support
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), project management, and QuickBooks Online
· Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor
· High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
· Demonstrated ability to work autonomously AND collaboratively as part of remote teams
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required

Assets (but not required)
· CPA, CFA, or other professional certification related to financial management
· Familiarity with mapping or integrating accounting systems across various platforms

  • · Experience designing and/or implementing financial control systems to align with company strategic growth initiatives involved in external reporting or audit scenarios, including the development of policies, procedures, and process mapping of controls
