Role Overview

This role supports the Foundation's financial operations, including revenue management, expense processing, and oversight of financial portfolios, ensuring compliance with CRA and business standards.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Support
  • Process accounts payable, record expenses, prepare reconciliation reports, and manage direct deposits.
  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations, recording revenue and adjustments in Raiser’s Edge and QuickBooks.
  • Support month-end reports, including prepaids, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and investments.
  • Prepare draft year-end financial statements, liaise with auditors, and assist with the T3010 Charitable Information Return.
Gift Administration & Donor Services
  • Coordinate revenue processes, including securities, gift-in-kinds, pledges, and online gifts.
  • Assist with lottery revenue reconciliation and reporting per the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
  • Support donor services team and participate in special projects and events.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Post-secondary education; experience in non-profit sector is an asset.
  • Strong bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing skills; knowledge of accounting software preferred.
  • Understanding of financial statements, budgets, and variances.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Raiser’s Edge, and QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of Canadian sales taxes is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Resourceful, independent, and adaptable with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
Work Schedule

8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with possible schedule adjustments based on operational needs.

Compensation

Competitive salary within CA$60,000 - CA$70,000 range, commensurate with experience.
