The Finance Controller oversees all financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities at dnata Catering Canada. This role collaborates closely with the Director of Finance to support strategic planning, manage risk, and ensure operational transparency and efficiency in all financial matters.

  • Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and audit standards.
  • Prepare and present financial reports for senior leadership.
  • Perform variance analysis and financial modeling to support business decisions.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital.
  • Promote customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate year-end closing and liaise with external auditors.
  • Identify opportunities for cost control, process improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical financial practices.
  • Authorize payments and merchandise returns.
  • Supervise finance staff and support their professional development.
  • Resolve issues such as customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial planning with operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 3–5 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in catering, hospitality, or airline services.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software systems.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
