Job Title: Finance Business Analyst – Capital Markets (4-Month Contract)

Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite 4 days/week, 1 day work from home)

Duration: 4 Months (Strong potential for extension)

About the Client:

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Finance Business Analyst to support a high-priority project aimed at improving the accuracy and integrity of accounting data flows from broker-dealer systems to the general ledger. This role is critical to addressing long-standing intercompany breaks and ensuring compliance with new tax legislation. The focus will be on reconfiguring system logic and clearing breaks related to ADP and Broadridge platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to document business and system requirements related to broker-dealer platforms and GL integration.
• Analyze existing workflows to identify system or data flow issues affecting financial reporting.
• Support the reconfiguration of financial systems, ensuring clean and accurate downstream postings.
• Assist with clearing intercompany breaks by applying manual fixes and helping to correct issues at the source.
• Participate in system testing and validation of newly implemented changes.
• Bridge communication between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment on deliverables.
• Provide project documentation outlining dependencies, data flows, and accounting impacts.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a Finance Business Analyst or in a similar Accounting/System-facing role within capital markets or broker-dealer operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting, especially around GL entries and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with trade lifecycle, broker-dealer operations, and financial data flows.
• Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven experience translating business requirements into system specifications.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience working with ADP or Broadridge systems.
• CPA designation or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Exposure to system integration or remediation projects involving financial data.
• Understanding of intercompany accounting issues and regulatory requirements.
