Job Description:

The Finance Ops Analyst will participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service, quality, innovation, and teamwork, and provide support for a broad range of operational activities in the delivery of the new Reconciliation Platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute business processes to facilitate account reconciliations and attestation of account balances within the new Reconciliation Platform across the Bank

  • Configure the reconciliation tool in line with policy and standard best practices

  • Conduct specialized reporting to support business partners and functional areas in delivery requirements, build and test the new Reconciliation Platform across the Bank

  • Provide meaningful analysis to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and assess the effectiveness of the reconciliation tool

  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and training, as assigned, to support business partners and functional areas in delivering requirements, including testing and monitoring of the new Reconciliation Platform across the Bank

  • Identify and/or investigate key operational and process issues and ensure timely communication of issues/points of interest

  • Provide specialized technical/business/functional knowledge for areas supported

  • Ensure compliance with applicable internal and external requirements

  • Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge/expertise in own area and participating in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit

  • Keep current on emerging trends and developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques

  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross-training across the team

  • Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce

  • Execute on routine requests and/or ad-hoc requests

  • Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion and performance of work activities

  • Act as a brand champion for the business and the bank, both internally and/or externally

Qualifications: Required:
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting/business OR related experience in financial reporting and accounting

  • 5 – 7 years of relevant working experience

  • Advanced Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)

  • Great analytical skills

  • Good presentation skills using PowerPoint and/or other programs

  • Communication skills

  • Sound knowledge of reconciliation tools, processes, financial systems (general ledger and data flows), and related policies and standards

  • Process improvement-oriented

  • Strong problem-solving and issue resolution capabilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to think analytically and handle complex, large data sets

  • Team player with strong relationship-building skills

  • Resilience under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail; ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities

  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities

  • Chartered accountant designation or banking experience in financial reporting

Preferred (Nice to Haves):
  • Financial reporting experience

  • Configuration and reconciliation experience

  • Tableau/Alteryx

  • Project management experience
