Position Overview

The Financial Reporting and Control team is responsible for the integrity and quality of the financial statements, reports and disclosures for the European entities of TDS.

Position Summary

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and post journal entries (e.g. accruals, prepayments, recharges, suspense account clearing entries, settlement, Tax Transfer Pricing) in adherence to the month-end close timetable.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules and investigate variances.
  • Prepare source data reconciliations.
  • Maintain working papers to an appropriately high standard to satisfy local financial reporting standards.
  • Prepare head office returns and disclosures for submission to Group.
  • Support the team in drafting financial statements and working with auditors to ensure timely audit completion.
  • Treasury related activities (i.e. Bank account reconciliation, tracking payments/receipts, coordinating funding requirements for entities' operating expenses).
  • Manage intercompany recharge settlement process for European subsidiaries.
  • Ensure all processes are fully documented and adhere to TDBG standards.
  • Ad hoc reporting and assist with projects as required.

This role requires:

  • Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • An inquisitive mindset to identify and swiftly resolve issues.
  • High proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
  • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders across UK, Ireland and Toronto based Finance teams (e.g. Accounts Payable, Financial Operations team).
  • Good numerical ability with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously, managing a busy and varied workload and develop/improve processes where necessary.

Person Specification

This role will suit:

  • A highly motivated individual with strong technical & excel skills with a desire to develop their career in the Financial Services industry.
  • Experience within a finance team/department or accountancy practice.
  • Part qualified and/or training towards a recognized accounting qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry (preferred but not essential).
  • Awareness of accounting principles for UK/Irish GAAP.
