POSITION SUMMARY:


Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting to drive data-driven decision-making within the organization. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, budgeting, and forecasting. The Finance Analyst collaborates with various departments to ensure financial accuracy, improve processes, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership. POSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Responsible for providing accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reporting and analysis of variances to budget providing high quality financial analysis, with a strong focus on time management and proactive process improvement.
  2. Prepare monthly forecasts with comparison to budget.
  3. Complete presentations on Company performance to present to internal stakeholders.
  4. Support and liaise with key business partners on reporting requirements, data maintenance and inventory management.
  5. Develop/prepare ad hoc financial analysis as assigned to drive strategic business decisions.
  6. Monitor and report financial data relating to the company's performance.
  7. Responsible for assisting plant management in preparing and analyzing the budget, including sales, raw material, and spending.
  8. Responsible for leading the annual budget process from start to finish.
  9. Accountable for all specific plant accounting, including posting of plant related journal entries.
  10. Work collaboratively with Finance Analyst team and assist where needed.
  11. Responsible for effectively and efficiently dealing with ad hoc issues that may arise.
  12. Other duties as assigned and required.

EDUCATION AND OR WORK REQUIREMENTS:


  1. A university degree or college diploma in Accounting or Finance or equivalent business experience is required.
  2. Enrollment in the professional accounting designation (CPA) is considered an asset.
  3. 1-3 years' experience in accounting or financial analysis is preferred.
  4. Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance in a team-oriented work environment.
  5. Ability to present and articulate data and insights.
  6. High sense of urgency, well organized, ability to manage multiple tasks and able to prioritize effectively.
  7. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to effectively use transactional databases and finance software.
  8. Oracle and/or Hyperion experience is considered an asset.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as continuous improvement mindset.
  10. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Limited travel required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  1. Walking, sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  2. Lift up to 20 lbs.
  3. Position includes utilization of computer systems in the office.
