Your opportunity :

The Office of the Vice Dean, Research & Health Sciences Education oversees research for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, coordinating with hospital research institutes for clinical research, grant proposals, funding allocations, and research metrics.

As Financial Administrator, you will support financial management of research grants and departmental accounts, working with the administrative team to process payroll, monitor transactions, and maintain records. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be vital.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Processing financial transactions such as AP / AR, reimbursements, journal entries
  • Interpreting and communicating financial guidelines, ensuring compliance with university and granting agency policies
  • Monitoring research accounts and preparing reports for funding agencies
  • Investigating discrepancies and advising on fund utilization
  • Reviewing payroll reports and reconciling financial statements

Essential Qualifications :

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in accounting/business or equivalent experience
  • At least three years' related experience, preferably in a university setting
  • Experience with financial and payroll transactions, reconciliations, and analyses
  • Knowledge of financial and research guidelines and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP systems (FIS, HRIS, RIS) or similar
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interpret guidelines and communicate complex procedures professionally
