Overview

HR Consultant

Reporting to the Executive Director and supporting the leadership team at Opportunities Yukon (OY), the Human Resources (HR) Consultant is accountable for a variety of human resource generalist activities, including recruitment and staffing; benefits administration; performance planning, evaluation and management; policy development; occupational health and safety; and compensation planning.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out the day-to-day administration of human resource management activities and collaborate with managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Provide advice and guidance to ensure consistent and appropriate implementation of employer best practices, existing policies and statutory / legislative requirements.
  • Support recruitment and staffing; benefits administration; performance planning, evaluation and management; policy development; occupational health and safety; and compensation planning.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience delivering a variety of human resource management services and developing related procedures and policies;
  • Experience providing services and advice to managers and supervisors;
  • Experience coordinating and prioritizing a variety of activities;
  • Degree or diploma in Human Resource Management (or a related field) and CPHR designation are considered assets.
