Description
Position Summary:
An ILI Field Technician is responsible for assisting in the build, testing, and setup of the ILI tool and support equipment under the direction of the Field Superintendent. The technician supports field execution and post-run reports of inline inspections. The role requires extensive travel and reports to the Operations Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Safety & Quality Compliance:
- Ensure safety is prioritized in all tasks and processes.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings.
- Accurately complete electronic and/or hardcopy job-related documents.
- Maintain all required records and inspections in compliance with safety policies.
Project Planning, Building, Execution & Maintenance
- Follow documented processes to build and prepare inline inspection tools and support equipment.
- Assist in prepping, launching, and receiving inline inspection tools.
- Safely operate a wireline truck for tethered ILI projects.
- Clean, refurbish, and maintain inline inspection tools after jobs.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.
- Transport inline inspection tools and equipment to the job site.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Expense & Timesheets
- Prepare expense reports for reimbursement in a timely manner.
- Manage travel expenses to align with company policies.
Requirements
- Pass pre-employment drug, alcohol test, and background check.
- Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record, or ability to obtain one.
- Passport or ability to obtain one.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% within Western Canada; international travel to the USA may be required.
- Ability to work long days, including early mornings and late evenings.
- Ability to lift and carry 25kg (50 lbs.) routinely.
- Ability to wear a respirator (being clean-shaven as needed).
- Ability to lift 45kg (100 lbs.) waist-high multiple times daily.
- Work in various conditions: heat, cold, wet, etc.
