Job description

Insituform Technologies Limited is looking for an experienced Field Technician / Engineer.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical and operational direction, including project management principles, for planning, designing, and operating rehabilitative and inspection projects.
  2. Review estimates for assigned projects.
  3. Conduct site visits to assess traffic requirements and work shift types for prep and lining.
  4. Update the system with findings from site visits.
  5. Discuss with the Project Manager any issues identified in the field that could affect scheduling.
  6. Address safety issues found in the field with the PM, GS, and Safety Manager.
  7. Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and project status meetings with clients as needed.
  8. Apply for applicable permits.
  9. Assist field crews with delivering 48-hour notices to residents when necessary.
  10. Ensure construction operations are well organized and coordinated.
  11. Arrange for site traffic controls.
  12. Prepare work packages for scheduled activities for all field crews.
  13. Review prep videos and final reports for concerns, escalate issues, and update the system.
  14. Maintain strong relationships at job sites with field leadership and crews.
  15. Communicate project details, changes, and issues with Regional Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and other field staff.
  16. Serve as liaison between field and office.
  17. Perform regular site visits to monitor project progress and crew productivity.
  18. Provide excellent customer service to uphold the company's reputation and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Project Management Certificate, Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering Degree, or Technical Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of related field construction management experience.
  • Approximately 30% travel required.
  • Willingness to be on-site 50% of the time.
  • Experience in water/sewer or municipal environments is preferred.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and assign work, including training and communication updates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, and Microsoft Project; JD Edwards experience is an asset.
  • Ability to complete reports, calculations, records, and administrative tasks.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
