Responsibilities
- Provide technical and operational direction, including project management principles, for planning, designing, and operating rehabilitative and inspection projects.
- Review estimates for assigned projects.
- Conduct site visits to assess traffic requirements and work shift types for prep and lining.
- Update the system with findings from site visits.
- Discuss with the Project Manager any issues identified in the field that could affect scheduling.
- Address safety issues found in the field with the PM, GS, and Safety Manager.
- Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and project status meetings with clients as needed.
- Apply for applicable permits.
- Assist field crews with delivering 48-hour notices to residents when necessary.
- Ensure construction operations are well organized and coordinated.
- Arrange for site traffic controls.
- Prepare work packages for scheduled activities for all field crews.
- Review prep videos and final reports for concerns, escalate issues, and update the system.
- Maintain strong relationships at job sites with field leadership and crews.
- Communicate project details, changes, and issues with Regional Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and other field staff.
- Serve as liaison between field and office.
- Perform regular site visits to monitor project progress and crew productivity.
- Provide excellent customer service to uphold the company's reputation and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Project Management Certificate, Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering Degree, or Technical Diploma from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of related field construction management experience.
- Approximately 30% travel required.
- Willingness to be on-site 50% of the time.
- Experience in water/sewer or municipal environments is preferred.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and assign work, including training and communication updates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, and Microsoft Project; JD Edwards experience is an asset.
- Ability to complete reports, calculations, records, and administrative tasks.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
