Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain proper documentation as needed.
• Valid driver’s license.

The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our team in Prince George, BC . Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to critical machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include :

• Performing maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment
• Adequately diagnosing and repairing various makes of equipment as required by customers
• Conducting tasks assigned from the Dispatcher, maintaining communication and providing updates as needed
• Reviewing and discussing job details with customers
• Actively communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered
• Maintaining proper documentation as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies :

• Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket or relevant Red Seal Trade Certification is required
• 5+ years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry is preferred
• Experience with hydraulics, and diagnosing and servicing electric engines a strong asset
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Valid driver’s license required

The base pay range for this role is $44.77 to $51.80 per hour, depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Prince George, British Columbia .
