Job summary

The Weir Group is seeking a Field Services Welder for the Sudbury/Lively area. You will perform fabrication, installation and welding on heavy equipment at customer sites and in our local shop. The job involves rotating shifts, travel within a 1–2 hour radius of Sudbury, and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Must have a CWB Welding Certification and 6–12 months of welding experience or equivalent. Oxy-fuel cutting and forklift/overhead crane safety certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • CWB Welding Certification required or equivalent.
  • 6-12 months of welding experience or related education/experience.
  • Ability to read fabrication instructions, diagrams and welding procedures.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and installation of large heavy equipment at customer sites and in the Lively shop.
  • Manually weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions with correct arc length and speed.
  • Repair cracked parts, prepare surfaces, and cut workpieces as needed.
  • Follow rotating shift schedules including evenings, nights and weekends with travel within 1–2 hours of Sudbury.
  • Maintain safety standards and support operational efficiency.
