Job summary

The Weir Group in Lively, ON is seeking a Field Services Welder for local underground operations. This full-time, onsite role welds, fabricates, and installs large equipment at customer sites and in the Lively shop, following diagrams and welding procedures.

You will rotate shifts (evenings, nights, weekends) with travel within a 1–2 hour radius of Sudbury and a strong emphasis on safety. Competitive pay starts at $35/hour with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• CWB Welding Certification is required.
• 6-12 months related welding experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication instructions, diagrams, and welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication & installation of large heavy equipment at customer sites and in Lively shop.
• Welding in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
• Repair or prepare surfaces using air carbon arc or oxy-fuel gouging; cut as needed.
• Follow rotating shifts (8-12 hours) including evenings/nights/weekends; travel 1–2 hours from Sudbury.
• Maintain safety standards and deliver high quality welds on time.
• Travel to customer sites within 1–2 hour radius of Sudbury; some shop work may occur.
