Job summary

Hunting is an energy services provider that supports leading oil and gas companies. Our Field Services team offers an Early Career training program in Nisku, Alberta, with hands-on technical exposure to OCTG pipe and connections and performance data.

The program includes paid on-the-job training, a base salary plus daily pay for days worked, and a comprehensive benefits package from day one. The successful candidate must be located in Edmonton or nearby area, and will travel across Canada to

Responsibilities

• Pre-job planning with review of technical requirements and gathering supplies and rental equipment.
• Prepare paperwork before arriving on-site, including safety and job plan checklists.
• On-site review of job and safety materials with on-site Supervisor.
• Provide hands-on support on the rig floor, ensuring torque specs are correct.
• Complete daily activity logs and sign off invoices.
• Occasional shop work in the Nisku shop including ringing and drilling couplings and inventory counts.
• Travel throughout Canada to client sites.

Our Field Services has an exciting opportunity in our early career program, located in Nisku, Alberta. This program will support you in developing your career in the oil and gas industry. This position provides hands on technical advice and expertise on OCTG pipe and connections, performance data and materials specifications to our customers. We examine our customers’ needs and provide them with innovative and technical solutions.

• Estimated annual pay range is between $90,000 - $110,000.

Responsibilities

• Pre-job planning, including a review of technical requirements prior to starting work, collection of required supplies and rental equipment from our inventory and travelling to customers sites.
• Prior to arriving on-site, preparing the required paperwork including safety and job plan checklists, and reviewing job data sheets.
• On arrival, reviewing all job and safety materials with on-site Supervisor.
• While on-site, our representatives are on the rig floor, providing hands-on support while the tubulars are running, including ensuring the torque specifications are set up properly.
• Following the work each day, a daily activity log is complete, and invoicing is prepared and signed off.
• Occasional shop work in our Nisku shop, including ringing and drilling couplings and inventory counts.
• Travel is required throughout Canada to our client’s sites.

Required Skills And Experience

Applicants with a willingness to learn, a mechanical aptitude and the skills listed below will be considered.

• One year experience working on a drilling or service rig.
• Able to communicate effectively with the customer and the internal Hunting team, and work with people in a harmonious way to accomplish the task assigned to this job.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn and become proficient with new software.
• Able to read and interpret documents, instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Able to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
• Must be able to recognize and be discreet with sensitive financial, and other business-related information.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and record that conforms to company’s insurance policies.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. (These vision requirements relate to obtaining a valid driver’s license and recognizing current Hazmat warning labels that are color coded.) The employee typically works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and proper hearing protection must be worn.
