Job summary

WSP is seeking a Field Services Technician to join our team in Canada. You will support field investigations, inspections, testing, and data collection, working alongside experienced professionals to deliver safe, efficient infrastructure projects.

You will collect and manage field data, operate field equipment, and coordinate field activities while adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards. Travel to project sites and outdoor work are expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering Technology, Environmental Technology, Geoscience, Civil Technology, or related field.
  • Experience performing field investigations, inspections, or testing.
  • Knowledge of field sampling methods and data collection practices.
  • Ability to safely operate field equipment and troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Willingness to travel and work outdoors.

As a Field Services Technician, you will play a hands‑on role supporting field investigations, testing, inspections, and data collection activities while working alongside experienced technical professionals. Your Impact
  • Conduct field investigations, inspections, monitoring, and testing activities in accordance with project requirements and established procedures.
  • Collect, record, and manage accurate field data to support engineering, environmental, and technical assessments.
  • Operate and maintain field equipment while ensuring all tools and instrumentation remain in proper working condition.
  • Support project delivery by coordinating field activities, documenting observations, and communicating findings to project teams.
  • Adhere to WSP's health, safety, and environmental standards while promoting a strong safety culture in all field operations.
  • Assist with preparing technical documentation, field reports, and project records that support informed decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help solve technical challenges and deliver high-quality results for clients.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and project outcomes.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites and work outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 - $76,200

MB & ON: $52,500 - $72,300

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $52,000 - $69,000

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
