FIELD SERVICES TECHNICIAN (contract-6 months-potentially lead to permanent)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installation of fare collection systems, including hardware, electrical connections, and sub-assemblies.
  • Ensuring daily service needs are met for assigned customers and territories.
  • Managing all aspects of on-site installations, upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance for Fare Collection devices and systems.
  • Developing and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Setting up equipment and components.
  • Performing site inspections of installations.
  • Providing commissioning support pre- and post-installation.
  • Supervising and reporting on field tests.
  • Providing warranty and post-warranty support.
  • Conducting quality checks and full functionality tests on systems.
  • Scheduling and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Documenting all work and logs.
  • Repairing, troubleshooting, and testing Fare Collection equipment.
  • Scheduling maintenance and tracking defective parts and repairs.
  • Performing upgrades on equipment.
  • Supporting device testing and providing coaching to customer personnel.
  • Providing on-call emergency support as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate business documentation and updating service systems.
  • Following up on service activities and reporting time accurately.
  • Managing email communications and expense reports.
  • Contributing to team efforts and exploring opportunities for added value.
  • Staying current with products, technology, and service advancements.
  • Maintaining a safe, professional, and ethical work environment.
  • Travel within the local territory and support outside projects (20%+ travel). Must have a valid driver’s license.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4+ years of experience in electro-mechanical equipment installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Ability to stand, squat, and bend for prolonged periods.
  • Proficiency with small parts and tools.
