Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Manitoba is seeking an experienced individual to provide expert analysis and support for heavy equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintaining technical equipment both at customer sites and within the company's facilities. Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in similar roles, with a focus on mechanical and hydraulic systems. Additional training may be provided for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience as a Journeyperson, preferably on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, hydraulic assembly drawings, electrical wiring harnesses, and control system schematics.

Job description

APPLY

LOCATION : Winnipeg, Manitoba – reporting to Thompson, MB office remotely. (Other Canadian locations will be considered for rotational contracts at remote mine sites).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide expert and disciplined analysis of structural, mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
  • Teardown, re-assemble, commission/test, and troubleshoot MEMCO equipment at customer sites or MEMCO facilities, as required.
  • Execute timely planned work tasks as directed by immediate Supervisor.
  • Assist the Product Support Manager with the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and repair cost estimates, audits of Customer equipment, etc.
  • Develop professional working relationships with key Customer personnel, and communicate any customer organizational or policy changes to Service Manager.
  • Identify potential business (sales) opportunities, and communicate to the appropriate team (Sales, Engineering).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION :

  • Certificate of Qualification as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic (HDM) preferred but not necessary, as training can be provided for the right candidate. HDEM, Truck and Coach, Aircraft, Millwright, and Automotive Journeyman will also be considered.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience as a Journeyperson, preferably on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, hydraulic assembly drawings, electrical wiring harnesses, and control system schematics.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and open to new methods, processes, and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team under minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
