Job description

LOCATION: Winnipeg, Manitoba – reporting to Thompson, MB office remotely. (Other Canadian locations will be considered for rotational contracts at remote mine sites).

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide expert analysis of structural, mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
  • Teardown, re-assemble, commission/test, and troubleshoot MEMCO equipment at customer sites or MEMCO facilities as required.
  • Execute planned work tasks as directed by immediate Supervisor.
  • Assist the Product Support Manager with preparing technical reports, presentations, repair cost estimates, and audits of customer equipment.
  • Develop professional relationships with key customer personnel and communicate organizational or policy changes to the Service Manager.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate them to the appropriate teams (Sales, Engineering).

Qualifications and Education

  • Certificate of Qualification as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic (HDM) preferred but not necessary; training can be provided for the right candidate. HDEM, Truck and Coach, Aircraft, Millwright, and Automotive Journeyman will also be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience as a Journeyperson, preferably on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, hydraulic assembly drawings, and electrical wiring harness and control system schematics.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and open to new methods, processes, and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team under minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
